Bathrooms - Choosing the flooring

Back to index page

Thinking when choosing flooring

When choosing the flooring for your bathroom remember that what every you choose will need to be hard standing and able to cope with the moisture in the air. There are many different types of flooring available, but choose carefully as some may not be very practical.

Carpet in bathrooms
For example, carpet and carpet tiles are now very low-cost, however, they may not be as practical as they do not handle the moisture well. If you are going to choose carpet, choose a specialist weave designed especially for kitchens and bathrooms.

Common flooring in bathrooms
The three most common flooring types in the bathroom are tiles, laminate flooring and cushion flooring. All these flooring types can withstand the moisture in the air and the wet and dirty shoes along with any spillages from the bath and sink.
